Every third day in Germany, a woman is killed by her (ex-) partner. 82 percent of the victims of domestic violence are women. Every day, thousands of women live in danger. They are beaten, yelled at, broken down psychologically. The isolation resulting from the Coronavirus makes the situation even more difficult for many women. Since the beginning of the quarantine, domestic violence has increased significantly both in Germany and worldwide. Nagham Hammoush has contacts with many friends, who have been subjected to violence, and nobody hears their voices. Therefore, Nagham Hammoush would like to draw attention to this situation through her poster.

Why “Mask 19?”

There is a campaign against violence using "Mask 19" code in France, Spain, and Germany (Cologne). Saying "Mask 19" is supposed to get affected persons out of domestic violence. Anyone suffers from physical or psychological violence can simply say "Mask 19" in pharmacies, clinics, and hospitals, and a shelter will be offered immediately, and the police will be notified.

Tausende Frauen leben jeden Tag in Gefahr.
